History of the Dickie Fritz Road Closure Association

The Dickie Fritz Road Closure Association (DFRCA) was established in 1999 after several crime-related incidents happened in the area. The Edenvale Council approved the application for a road closure with the condition that there wouldn’t be another Road Closure in the DFRCA area. The security company that the DFRCA appointed was DMS Security. The initial security service was 2 guards doing foot patrol.

The security of the area was further enhanced through the erection of the palisades opposite the Glades and in Flame Crescent to close off the area.  The booms and guardhouse were the next initiatives. SSG Security took over from DMS Security and a designated patrol vehicle was deployed in the area. Initially we had 2 guards managing the boom but due to cost implications we had to retain only one guard. Cameras were installed with recordings backed-up on a system.  After a few years SSG Security was taken over by ADT Security.  The DFRCA was not satisfied with ADT’S service and replaced ADT Security with 24/7 Security about 6 years ago.

Throughout the years the DFRCA has been working closely with the River Ridge Road Closure Association to ensure the security and safety of the broader area along the entire Dickie Fritz road.
